Excerpt from Arab News article below:

Dr. Ralph Moss is a reputable science writer and a vocal critic of the current medical system for treating cancer with chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and surgery. He began his career in the field of cancer in the public relation division of the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Moss has written a library of books on cancer, cancer therapies, and the current cancer system. His books tackled nontoxic cancer treatments and prevention, alternative methods, always questioning conventional cancer therapies. Some of his books include “Cancer Therapy: The Independent Consumer’s Guide to Non-Toxic Treatment and Prevention;” “Herbs against Cancer;” “Questioning Chemotherapy;” “The Cancer Industry: The Classic Exposé on the Cancer Establishment;” and more.
His writings give us unlimited information on cancer and the different methods of healing. His scientific background and knowledge on cancer reveal to us “the shocking truth that chemotherapy is inappropriate [and] ineffective” for many types of cancer, yet most oncologists recommend it to the six hundred thousand cancer patients without a second thought or hesitation.
From experience and as an experienced science writer, he says, “Once we start to reshape our writing about science to accommodate the wishes of doctors, patients, or institutions, rather than the facts, we are sure to end badly. We must always speak to cancer patients with a finely balanced mixture of compassion and honesty. Finally, we must always demand a fair evaluation of all treatments, conventional and alternative.”
It is so refreshing to read an interview with such a knowledgeable and honest scholar. Let us see how Ms. Somers’ discussion with Dr. Ralph Moss goes. It is about the effectiveness of conventional cancer therapies and the bias of mainstream medicine and the media for the industry’s research and conventional therapies and protocols vis-à-vis natural treatments.
Moss starts explaining that pharmaceutical industry research is heavily financed, while alternative treatments do not receive enough funds for research (read below), thus research is not even-sided and less toxic cures are not scientifically confirmed. Moreover, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) almost always sides with the pharmaceutical companies due to their financial influence in drug research.
Dr. Ralph Moss explains that when he worked in Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, laetrile, extract of a nutrient found in the seeds of plants (apricot seed), was found in their research labs to be an effective and “a promising nontoxic cancer drug.” The people of Sloan-Kettering, excited about the findings of their research, proceeded twice in 1974 and 1975 to Washington, arguing their points of view on laetrile and literally begging from the government for funds to continue the research and allow them to do clinical trials, as laetrile showed positive results on lab animals. According to Dr. Moss, they were met with “blistering opposition from the FDA, the American Cancer Society, and somewhat from the National Cancer Institute [as it] would probably have been the ruination of their careers.”
This attitude made Sloan-Kettering back off. Consequently, those for laetrile lost their enthusiasm for it. When Moss “broke ranks with the party line,” he was fired from his post, because he continued supporting laetrile as it did destroy cancer cells. According to the scientist, “The same people who fired me would admit these things in private.”
Obviously, it is not in the interest of the industry and special interest groups to have alternative or natural cancer cures replace their money-making drugs. Cures coming from nature are not profitable and cannot be patented.
